The portrayal of South Asians in television, film and music has shifted in recent years, a reckoning that has uprooted archaic notions of South Asian identity paved by characters like Apu from The Simpsons. The panelists will explore gender dynamics and cultural stereotypes, and investigate what the media is getting right and wrong and how the pop culture landscape can do better.
